We met Aad at the holiday fair in Utrecht.
His infectious enthusiasm convinced us to book an 8-day cycling holiday in Piedmont with him for the first week of September.
It was wonderful, partly thanks to the beautiful, not too hot weather. Because that’s what makes or breaks everything…
The accommodations, small-scale and often on a hill, offered a very pleasant stay with delicious food. I tre Poggi stood out above all others. What a wonderful place to stay.
Fortunately, on Aad’s recommendation, we rented bikes from him that were suitable for the rather hilly terrain. We were also each given a spare battery. This was no luxury, because there was virtually no flat route and we had to use the second battery every day.
We wouldn’t have managed this on our own electric bikes.
The area where we cycled was beautiful. It varied from agricultural land to many vineyards, which you cycled through.
Because the route was mapped out using Komoot, it was almost impossible to go wrong, and that’s exactly how it turned out.
The organization, bikes, and support during the week were excellent.
We had a great week, which is definitely worth repeating.
